Caterine Michna
Project Manager
Catherine has six years of experience developing federal and foundation grant proposals for municipalities, schools, non-profits, and scientific start-ups. As a grant project manager, she enjoys guiding diverse stakeholders to analyze their funding needs, evaluate grant opportunities, generate project plans, and write and submit winning proposals.
Catherine's passion for community fundraising stems from her background writing about New Orleans's recovery from Hurricane Katrina. Her PhD dissertation (Boston College 2011) focused on New Orleans arts organizations' contributions to the city's recovery after the flood. Catherine's subsequent work as a researcher, educator, curriculum designer, and program designer have given her skills in project planning and facilitation. These skills empower her to nurture cross-sector partnerships and generate winning proposals that have a long-term transformative impact on the communities they serve. Before coming to Franklin in early 2024, she was a Senior Consultant in the fundraising industry managing grant projects and fundraising campaigns for non-profits and scientific start-ups around the country.
