James C. Taylor, AICP
Senior Project Manager/ Urban Planner
James is a certified urban planner with over 26 years of professional experience. He earned an undergraduate degree in horticultural science from Clemson University, graduating with the centennial class; and then traveled to Baton Rouge where he earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University. James’ professional experience includes ten years in Florida, working as landscape designer and urban planner for a boutique design firm. Over 100 projects touched during those years included park and recreation facility designs, regional recreation and open space master plans, commercial landscape design, ecological and habitat restoration plans, cultural and heritage tourism plans, GIS and cartography work, and redevelopment master plans. In Louisiana, Mr. Taylor began his career with Baton Rouge’s Mid City Redevelopment Alliance where he completed his master’s thesis, then progressed to recreation design and parish GIS system assessments with Gulf Engineers and Consultants. James recently celebrated his 11-year anniversary with Franklin Associates where his primary role is managing public engagement aspects of recreation or transportation planning projects.
